Design:
Polk Monitor XT12 subwoofer has a front firing woofer. It has critically braced MDF cabinet and comes with a removable magnetic cloth grille. It has permanently installed feet and this low-resonant enclosure deliver clean and even bass.
Performance:
The Polk Monitor XT12 is driven by Class AB amplifier. This highly efficient amplifier delivers clean and powerful performance. Low ends from this dynamically balanced 12” woofer is deeper and tighter. As a result, watching movies or listening to music is much more engaging. It can get as low as 24Hz, and this punch is adequate for bass heavy contents.
This bi-laminate woofer is surrounded by foam and is known to deliver accurate bass in all cases. When paired to a home theater, the movie effects and soundtracks become lively, immersive and room-filling. A rear port will boost the bass while ensuring there is minimum or no distortion. It will work with Dolby Atmos and DTS:X enabled receivers. It will work with 2.1, 3.1, 5.1, 7.1, and 9.1 home theater systems.
Placement:
If you are using one Polk Monitor XT12 subwoofer, then you can begin by placing it on the front wall between the speakers on one side. Place sure to leave a gap of 6” from the wall. If you are using two subwoofers, then place it in one corner on the front wall. Then place the second one in the diagonally opposite corner of the room. Use case:

Connectivity:
On the rear side the subwoofer has line level, LFE and binding posts for speaker. In terms of options, it has volume knob, low pass filter knob (80-160Hz), auto on/off switch and phase on/off switch. Once you use the volume to adjust sub level, the volume option in your receiver will adjust the speaker sound. In case the bass sounds boomy or muddy, toggle the phase switch to select 0 or 180.
Connect the amplifier or receiver to the line level input ports of the subwoofer. In case the amp, preamp or receiver has a single LFE out or sub line out, then connect it to the LFE port of the sub.

How to use the speaker inputs of the Polk XT 12 subwoofer?
In case the amplifier or receiver you have chosen does not have LFE or pre out jack, use the speaker inputs of the subwoofer to establish a connection. Then use speaker cables to connect from speaker output ports of the amp or receiver to the speaker level in of the subwoofer.
Is Polk Monitor XT 12 wireless?
Polk Monitor XT 12 is not wireless. It connects to an AC power supply via the 6.5” power cord.
