Dali Spektor 2 2-way passive speakers sound bigger than its size. It is a clear sounding speaker that is well composed and full of energy. It has good dynamics and expansive soundstage. When we played music, the speakers delivered sound with good authority. Movie watching was satisfying as well. However, for cinematic and immersive theater experience, make a 3.1 or 5.1 system.

Dali Spektor 2 is a bass-reflex passive speaker available at an affordable price. For bass lovers, go for external subwoofer in mid-sized spaces. We love how the speakers deliver accurate and consistent sound at all volumes. The sound is pleasing and engaging. They perform ‘bigger’ than their size and price. Place them in home or use them in office.

Design:

The Spektor 2 from Dali has an MDF body. Build quality and aesthetics are great. It is available in three different color options. We love how the white color fits in our small office. Use the included grilles and rubber feet. These feet will help them to stay put on table or shelves.

Performance:

 

Dali Spektor 2 has 1” tweeter and 5.25” woofer driver. The tweeter is light and made of fabric. It has good resolution and trebles are produced with accuracy. This woofer driver is lightweight and with low-loss feature it can deliver minute details. Low ends from 5.25” woofer will not be chest thumping but adequate for small spaces. It is designed to have better rigidity and to minimize surface resonance.

For audiophile who seek more bass, pair an additional powered subwoofer via amplifier. Bass might have its’ ups and downs but overall, it shows optimum performance. The speakers deliver full-bodied sound and can handle music quite well. It shows excellent clarity and detail. It will deliver sound throughout the room so that the performance remains consistent. It is designed to use as front stereo, surround or rear speakers in a home theater. Place it on shelf, table, stand or mount it on wall.

Overall, the driver and cabinet are designed to minimize any distortion. It can play sound with excellent stereo imaging. Instrumental sounds are precise and just as they should be. They are tuned in such a way that you do not need to adjust the crossover.

Dali Spektor 2 vs Spektor 1:

Consider Dali Spektor 1 the smaller sibling of the Spektor 2. It has 0.8” tweeter and: woofer. It can get as low as 59Hz. It is smaller is size and will be suitable for small rooms or desktop tables for near field listening. Driver design and material are the same.

Place the speakers 50cm from the wall and create an equilateral triangle. You can also try placing them 30” from back walls and 25” from side walls. There is no need for toe-in as Dali affirms their wide dispersion technique.

Along with decent build quality, the drivers are well-designed. There is cast chassis woofer that improves stiffness while minimizing any resonance. To boost up the bass and minimize any noise, it has dual flared slot ports. This also makes placement easier. The speaker has wide-open soundstage and they sound quite musical. Trebles and mids are good, low ends pack a punch. Mids are clean, clear and gives you a sweet listening experience. Compared to its compact size, bass is full and impressive. If you want to go lower than 44Hz, easily pair an 8” subwoofer via the amp. Allow the bass to open up by connecting an Elac Sub 1010.
